Delta Goodrem is a mainstay of Australian pop culture and after making it through to the 2026 Eurovision Grand Final, fans simply cannot get enough of the star.

When she finally married her long-term partner Matthew Copley in 2025, we cried tears of joy for the Born To Try songstress, and are utterly obsessed with their love story.
However, before her pretty private relationship with Matthew, Delta had an impressive list of ex-boyfriends that boasts some major celebrity names, from Brian McFadden and Mark Philippoussis to Nick Jonas. Here’s Delta Goodrem’s full relationship timeline.
Is Delta Goodrem married?
Delta Goodrem went officially off the market in 2025! She married her boyfriend of nine years, Matthew Copley, in June 2025.
The two began dating in 2016, becoming engaged in September 2023 while on holiday in Malta. Nearly two years later, the couple were married in a lavish, multi-event ceremony in the same country where they became engaged.
Like Delta, 40, Matthew, 44, is a musician. The two have worked together a lot over the years, performing and creating music together.
During COVID-19 lockdowns, the two would collaborate on the ‘Bunkerdown Sessions’—sharing duets to Instagram. These duets have continued into 2026 as Delta often shares snippets of her and Matthew performing side-by-side – her on the piano and him strumming the guitar by her side.
Matthew has also co-produced and co-written several of Delta’s hits including Solid Gold, Let It Rain and Keep Climbing. Matthew Copley is a musician, songwriter, producer, and Vice President of ATLED RECORDS – the label Delta established in 2023 after departing from her long-time label, Sony Music.
Matthew continues to be Delta’s biggest supporter – from playing guitar by her side at home or on stage to promoting her 2026 Eurovision ticket.

Delta has had a number of high profile dates and relationships over the years. She even remains friends with some of her celebrity exes.
Drew Mitchell
2016
Delta dated former Wallabies player Drew Mitchell between August and December 2016. The two kept a low profile during their relationship, which continued into their break-up. “We decided to keep our personal life personal,” Drew told The Telegraph in 2017, as reported by the Daily Mail.
He said busy schedules and long distance made their relationship difficult, with Delta working a lot in Australia and he playing rugby in France for some of their time together.
Darren McMullen
2012
Delta Goodrem and Darren McMullen “had something going on” after meeting on the first season of The Voice Australia in 2012. Or so host McMullen confessed after the fact in 2013. He confirmed “something” on the Kyle and Jackie O Show, but said the “were never dating.”
“We were just two very young single people who would hold hands occasionally,” he told the radio hosts. “We are still very close”.
The two were rumoured to be an item after they were seen on multiple dates across Sydney and Los Angeles in 2012. They were also seen smooching at a Lady Gaga concert. Whether or not they were actually an item, it seems they at least remained good friends.
In 2015, when Delta returned from her year break from The Voice, Darren posted a selfie with him, Delta and fellow host Renee Bargh.
Nick Jonas
2011 – 2012
You might have forgotten that Delta dated a Jonas brother, but we certainly didn’t! These two pop stars started seeing each other some time in early-mid 2011, with romantic photographs emerging of them holidaying in Bali in May.
The relationship courted a lot of negative press in the wake of Delta’s split from Brian McFadden. There was also an eight year age gap between Nick, then 18, and Delta who was 26 at the time. (Nick is now married to Priyanka Chopra, a woman ten years his senior.)
The relationship moved quickly, with Delta attending Nick’s mum’s birthday that year. Unfortunately, the relationship fizzled and they parted ways in February 2012, after approximately 10 months together.
The two remained on good terms, with Delta going on to work with Nick’s brother Joe the following year. This photo of them was also taken in 2017, five years after the split, with Nick sharing it to his Instagram.
Brian McFadden
2004 – 2011
One of Delta’s longest relationships was with Westlife singer Brian McFadden. The two met when they sang together on the chart-topping duet, ‘Almost Here’.
Delta and Brian became engaged in 2007. As of 2009, they were still planning a rumoured destination wedding.
The two formally split in 2011, releasing a joint statement confirming the split.
The relationship appeared to have its highs and lows. While shortly following the split Brian tweeted thanking Delta “for giving me the best years of my life”.
However, Delta later gave interviews to Vogue and 60 Minutes saying she wished she’d had the courage to leave the relationship earlier. It’s also rumoured that many of the songs on her album Child of the Universe were about that relationship.

Mark Philippoussis
2004
Delta had a nine-month relationship with tennis star Mark Philippoussis in 2004. The two began their relationship shortly after Delta’s battle with Hodgkin’s lymphoma, and she wrote the song ‘Out Of The Blue’ about his support during that time.
The two split due to busy work schedules, Philippoussis told the Sydney Morning Herald. However, media also reported the two broke up after Mark began seeing Paris Hilton.
Blair McDonough
2002-2003
Delta, then 17, dated former Big Brother contestant Blair McDonough when they were both acting on Neighbours.
The relationship came crashing to a halt while Delta was in Los Angeles and received a voicemail from her then-beau.
“I listened to the voicemail and it was clearly not for me, it was for someone else,” she told the Daily Telegraph in 2013. “He was saying, ‘Hey, come and meet me’ and he was in Brisbane and I was in LA. And because of the time difference I couldn’t get a hold of him.”
It’s rumoured that the tracks ‘Not Me, Not I’ and ‘Predictable’ are about McDonough.
