Kirstie Alley has denied the rumours that John Travolta is gay.
On Sunday, September 16, the 67-year-old actress has spoken out in an interview on podcast The Dan Wootton Interview to set the record straight. She claimed to not believe the rumours and revealed, “I know him pretty well – and I know the love.”
In two lawsuits filed in 2012, the 64-year-old Grease star was accused of sexual misconduct by two male masseurs. The lawsuits have since been dismissed.
There were also claims that Travolta had a sexual relationship with his former male pilot, claims that Travolta has since denied.
Alley still harbours a strong admiration for Look Who’s Talking costar and claimed in the interview that they “sort of fell in love with each other” on the 1989 film set.
Going into further detail she claimed that the relationship was not sexual because she wasn’t going to cheat on her husband Parker Stevenson. However, she also revealed, “I think there are some things way worse than sexual relationships, than cheating on someone that way.”
She considers what she did to be worse than cheating because she found that she let herself “fall in love with him and stay in love with him for a long time.”
The actress claimed that now acting on her feelings for Travolta was “one of the hardest things” she has ever done. When Travolta reunited with his now-wife Kelly Preston, Kirstie realised that, “I wasn’t going anywhere, I was staying married.”
Despite her thoughts, Kirstie claimed to have still flirted with Travolta “like crazy” when they reunited for Look Who’s Talking Too.
Her flirting came to an end when she was approached by Kelly who asked her “Um, why are you flirting with my husband?”. At that moment she realised, “Are you going to be this girl that’s not only married, but he’s now married and … you’re still acting like you’re together somehow when you’re not?”
The pair are still on good terms with Kirstie revealing that Travolta and Preston live next door to here and they they come through the fence to hang out.
