It’s the first Monday of May, which can only mean one thing: The Met Gala is officially here, and all eyes are on the red carpet.
With a Met Gala theme of ‘Superfine: Tailoring Black Style’ and an official dress code, ‘Tailored for you’, all eyes are on the steps of New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art to see how Hollywood’s finest will approach Fashion’s biggest night.
As attendees start to arrive, fans are waiting to catch a glance of Formula 1 legend Lewis Hamilton, musicians A$AP Rocky and Pharrell Williams, Los Angeles Lakers star Lebron James, and playwright Colman Domingo, who are all 2025 Met Gala co-chairs– marking the first time in the fundraiser’s history the co-chairing committee will consist exclusively of men.
“This theme speaks to me deeply,” Lewis Hamilton previously said of his appointment. “Growing up as the only Black kid on the track, so often that pressure [to conform] got to me. Expressing myself creatively was and still is my freedom from that conformity. For Black people across the diaspora, fashion is self-preservation.”
“Fashion is resilience, and I can’t wait to further explore and amplify our underrepresented voices.”
