According to EW Cher has joined the cast of Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, the sequel to the 2008 smash hit.
The film is adapted from the hugely successful stage musical based on the songs of ABBA, Mamma Mia! of course.
The original movie featured Meryl Streep as Donna, who, at her daughter, Sophie’s (Amanda Seyfried) wedding, is approached by three men (Colin Firth, Pierce Brosnan, Stellan Skarsgård), all of whom are left wondering which of them is the bride’s father.

This will be Cher’s first onscreen role since 2010’s Burlesque. It also reunites her with Streep, the two actors previously worked together in 1983’s Silkwood.
