Pop sensation Miley Cyrus landed herself in hot yesterday afternoon when she told her fans during an Instagram Live that she chose to turn gay because she was sick of “evil” men and couldn’t find a good man who wasn’t a “dick”.

“I always thought I had to be gay because I just thought, like, all guys were evil, but it’s not true. There are good people out there that just happen to have d*cks. I’ve only ever met one…and he’s on this Live,” she told her 100 million followers, referring to Cody Simpson.
Naturally, her “insensitive” comments deeply offended many members of the LGBTQ community, with one Twitter user writing: “Miley, this is so not it. Women don’t “have to be gay” because they “can’t find a good person with a d*ck”. Don’t use the queer community as a stop-gap because you couldn’t find a boyfriend. People aren’t queer because they “gave up” on men. This is so insulting.”
Another user weighed in on her shocking comments, claiming: “Miley saying “you don’t have to be gay” is so cringe as if people choose to be gay just because they can’t find someone of the opposite sex that isn’t a dick. That’s not how this works Miss Cyrus.”
Since coming under fire for what she said, Cody, 22, has rushed to his girlfriend’s defence, publicly admitting people took what she said the wrong way.
When asked about the scandal during last night’s episode of The Project, the 22-year-old said: “Yeah she…. people took that the wrong way I think. Absolutely you don’t choose who you fall for or who you love, whatever gender or who you are.”
The “Slide Away” singer also went into damage control after she found herself at the centre of yet another scandal, telling her Twitter and Instagram followers that she was actually “talking sh*t about sucky guys”, going on to admit “you don’t choose your sexuality”.
“It has always been my priority to protect the LGBTQ community I am a part of. Happy Monday,” she wrote.
During the video, the former Disney star also took a few thinly-veiled swipes at her ex-husband Liam Hemsworth, however, sources have since revealed her sly digs are all part of a ploy to get his attention.
A clued-up insider recently told Radar Online that the singer— who recently returned to acting to star in a brilliant episode of Black Mirror— is still obsessed with Hunger Games star and despite desperately trying to prove she’s moved on, is still struggling to cope with the breakdown of their marriage and his new romance.
“She was drunk dialling him for a while, so now she’s resorted to social media to get his attention,” the source claimed.
Another insider in Liam’s camp confirmed he’s refusing to buy into her weak attempts to make him jealous, revealing he’s over going back and forth with her and has no time for her petty games.
“This romance with Cody, supposed hospital visit and constant ‘look at me’ behaviour is all designed to push Liam’s buttons — and to be fair it’s always worked in the past because he’s a good guy who ultimately loves her. But now he’s just rolling his eyes and washing his hands of her, even as a friend, which of course is driving Miley nuts,” the source continued, adding Liam is happy with his new girlfriend, Aussie actress Maddison Brown.
