Cody Simpson’s own mother Angie Simpson has revealed to fans what we were all speculating about: Miley Cyrus and her son’s relationship is all for show.

Cody, who has had a low-profile for many years, has been thrown into the media’s spotlight since going public with the 26-year-old “Slide Away” singer, and he’s absolutely loving it.
Speaking to KIIS FM’s Kyle and Jackie O show, Angie dished on her son’s relationship, claiming that Cody likes to “play it up” for the cameras.
Angie previously shared the racy snap of Miley’s hands down her son’s pants on her own Instagram, speaking on the show she admitted that it’s all for “a bit of fun,” and that she doesn’t disapprove at all.
“I think that they’re doing it for a bit of fun and looking for exactly what the media is saying,” she continued.
“They’re like two peas in a pod. We were just on FaceTime [with] them this morning. They’re in Nashville having a bit of a holiday and I just think they like to play it up.”
A similar sentiment was shared by body language expert Blanca Cobb, who also admitted they were all for show and shock value.
“Miley’s hand down the front of Cody’s pants is all about shock value to the world and a secret message between the two of them,” she said.
Blanca continued by saying that Cody is just “enjoying the moment” while Miley is proving she “doesn’t care about possible comments or criticism”.
Cody’s mother echoed that fact while chatting to Kyle and Jackie O, admitting that her son is going with the flow after hosts asked if marriage was in the cards for Miley and Cody.
“I just told him, ‘Enjoy the ride and take it slow. Like any relationship, test the time and see what happens.'”
Miley and Cody started dating after she split-up from her ex-girlfriend, Kaitlynn Carter in September. Miley was previously married to Australian hunk Liam Hemsworth, who filed for divorce from her in August, 2019, seven months after their wedding.
While Cody is absolutely smitten by the singer, she has left a trail of broken-hearts behind her in the months prior to their relationship. This morning, Miley unfollowed both Liam and Kaitlynn on social media, one day after The Hills: New Beginnings star penned a long essay explaining how Miley broke her heart.
As for Liam, he has happily moved on with 22-year-old Australian actress Maddison Brown.
