The question on all of our minds at the end of Emily in Paris season 4 was “Who does Emily pick: Marcello or Gabriel?”, but after watching the trailer for season 5, we are much more concerned about her best friend Mindy’s love life!
Thankfully, the latest series is set for release on Netflix on December 18, 2025, so we don’t have long to wait for explanations- because Mindy’s new relationship with Alfie (yes, that Alfie) certainly needs answering to!

So let’s take a look at who are all of the characters hooking-up with this season:
Mindy and Alfie

Probably the most shocking “couple” of all is Emily’s bff Mindy and her ex-boyfriend Alfie (Lucien Laviscount) who appear in a rather steamy scene in the trailer.
The crazy teaser, which had fans’ heads spinning showed Mindy cradling Alfie’s face and looking extremely intimate with one leg wrapped around his body!
However, advising fans not to jump the gun, the actress who plays Mindy, Ashley Park, told US Weekly: “There’s a lot of context that will be provided once season five airs”… hopefully it’s not what it looks like!
Sylvie and Giancarlo

In Season 4 of Emily in Paris, we saw Sylvie (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu) reconnect with her former flame and film professor, Giancarlo (Raoul Bova).
In a raunchy part of the trailer, the camera pans to the couple looking very cosy in bed proving the fire in their romantic relationship had not died over the years.
But what does this mean for her and Laurent G? Could they finally be over?
Emily and Marcello

Although season 4 ended with Emily (Lily Collins) and Marcello (Eugenio Franceschini) dating, Chef Gabriel’s surprise arrival on her doorstep left us wondering if she was going to throw it all away for him once more… and by the looks of things, she didn’t!
The trailer for season 5 shows Emily and Marcello loved-up and living their best life in Rome… just what she needs after the dramatic ending of season 4.
What will the new season be about?

“Now the head of Agence Grateau Rome, Emily faces professional and romantic challenges as she adapts to life in a new city. But just as everything falls into place, a work idea backfires, and the fallout cascades into heartbreak and career setbacks,” it reads.
“Seeking stability, Emily leans into her French lifestyle, until a big secret threatens one of her closest relationships. Tackling conflict with honesty, Emily emerges with deeper connections, renewed clarity, and a readiness to embrace new possibilities.”
What to watch after Emily in Paris?

If you love Emily in Paris, we think you’ll also enjoy Katy Keene– like Emily in Paris, it features incredible fashion, is a good mix of lighthearted comedy and soap-worthy drama, and stars eye candy Lucien Laviscount.
