Eva Mendes has faced a devastating loss in the past few weeks of her older brother Carlos Mendez, who passed away from cancer on April 17 at the age of 53.
Eva and her younger brother Carlo Mendez grieved the loss at a memorial service on Tuesday, and Carlo shared a photo on Instagram to honour his brother’s life and his best qualities.
“To remember who my brother was and the impact he left on us. The amazing person he was, the funny charming genius comedian creative hot tempered crazy calm person that he was.”
A couple of weeks ago, Eva Mendes shared a photo of her and Carlos from last year at the Hollywood Stands Up To Cancer event.
Carlo confirmed the news of his brother’s passing on Instagram a week ago by sharing a photo of the memorial service invitation and a message about his brother’s life. He left behind two children, aged 13 and 5.
“Here is the info many of you have been asking for. To remember who my brother was and the impact he left on us. The amazing person he was, the funny charming genius comedian creative hot-tempered crazy calm person that he was. I still can’t believe this has happened. I’m crying as I write this and I have no idea how to cope with him being gone but I want to thank you all who have reached out to me and believe me when I say your messages make me feel a little bit better. My life will never be the same without him. Thank you all.”
