After spending most of this season of Farmer Wants A Wife making it very clear he was going to choose Eddy, Farmer Alex has finally gone and done the thing, and wrapped up his time on the show, with Eddy by his side!
Speaking to WHO about Alex leaving, Farmer Dylan said it was obvious who Alex would choose, based on their brief chats at the events they were seen attending on the show.
“I mean, you can definitely tell who he was gonna pick,” Dylan said with a laugh. “I remember at the country ball just looking at him like he had all of the girls around him, and then he’d have his arm around Eddy, and it’s all like, ‘Oh, mate, try and make it less obvious!'”

He added, “Once I found out he’d left early, it didn’t come as a huge shock to me. I was like, ‘Oh yeah, if anyone was going to do it, it would have been him. He’s real honest, and I suppose earnest is the right word, bloke, like he wouldn’t muck around and have anyone’s time wasted if he’d already made up his mind. So I think he did the right thing, especially following his heart.”
Farmer Zac agreed that he could “see who he had a strong connection with,” but explained he had no idea that Alex would wrap things up early.
So, could Dylan and Zac have walked away with one of their ladies at that point in the experience? Nope!

“No, I definitely needed those extra dates,” Dylan admitted. “I mean, I found it so tricky because every time I’d go on a date, you’d be like, ‘Oh no, maybe this is the one’, and then you go on another date, and it’s like, ‘Oh, but then, like, there’s parts of this lady that’s different with this lady’, and I found it so difficult.
“Even when I get to two, I’m still just like, which way am I headed? I think that’s what makes it hard, and I remember I had to sit there and think a lot, like follow your heart and your gut, and I think that’s all all you can really do in that kind of situation.”
Zac agreed, saying, “Absolutely not a chance I could have chosen someone [at that point]. I was in shambles. I had no idea which direction I was going to go in. I had three wonderful ladies, and I just had no idea how to make a decision or which direction to go. It was the toughest time of the experiences, probably those final two weeks.”
Farmer Alex says goodbye to Rachel
While Alex was meant to have a date with Rachel in Sunday night’s episode, he spoke to his parents after waking up that day and decided it wouldn’t be right to go on the date when he was already set on Eddy.
He took Rachel to a private location and told her, “I just think, considering you’ve asked for complete openness and honesty, I think it’s important to tell you that I don’t think it’s a good idea that we go on a solo date today.

He continued, “At this point, my connection with Ed is just so great, but yeah, I don’t think I see a future with you.”
Luckily, Rachel was very gracious, telling him she appreciated the honesty after she had essentially begged for it twice in the last week.
“I really appreciate you being 100 per cent honest, it means a lot. Literally all I’ve asked for in this time is honesty and people being 100 per cent honest with how they’re feeling and how they’re feeling and that’s literally all I can ask for,” she said, adding she felt much more resilient after her time on the show.
Rachel added, “I’m happy for you and Ed, I think she’s a gem.”
Farmer Alex chooses Eddy
Alex then wrote a note for Eddy, asking her to dress up and meet him in the forest (which could have sounded quite creepy, honestly!).
Thankfully, Eddy wasn’t creeped out and met him at the location.
Alex then poured his heart out for Eddy, admitting that he felt “so grateful” to have her along for the wild ride that is Farmer Wants A Wife.

“On our first date, I think what took me most about you was how different it felt around you, compared to how first dates usually feel. I was just totally intoxicated by everything about you but I was trying my hardest to keep up,” he confided, adding that their first ten-minute speed date was all he needed to know she was special.
“The way that you make me feel, Ed? It scares me. It’s terrifying, to be honest. I haven’t felt this way about anyone before, and I’ve never felt this way about someone so fast, either.”
“I’ve fallen in love with you, Ed,” he admitted.
Although Eddy confessed that it was hard for her to say those words at this point, she admitted that she was on her way to fully falling in love with him, and that was enough for Alex.
How sweet and unsurprising!
