One of the big moments that featured heavily in the promotional videos leading up to Tuesday night’s episode was the moment Ally was (quite literally) swept off her feet by Farmer Dylan, with the 23-year-old chocolate shop assistant interrupted as she spoke to producers about their date that had just ended moments before.

While debriefing, Dylan swept in and kissed her spontaneously.

The moment played out at the end of Tuesday’s episode after the pair enjoyed their first date together, which included horse riding, deep chats around the bonfire, and Dylan introducing Ally to his grandparents.

While it was all very wholesome and had us viewers smiling ear to ear, there was one little detail in the conversation around the campfire that perked the ears of some detail-oriented fans.

Why?

Because a question Dylan asked Ally was actually one previously posed to him by Scarlett, another of the five girls competing for his heart, during their own speed date in Monday’s episode.

And, Farmer Dylan told WHO that he did indeed steal the question from Scarlett to ask Ally in a bid for deeper connection.

Quick recap: What happened between Farmer Dylan and Scarlett?

During their speed date in Monday’s episode, when Dylan was tasked to whittle down eight girls to a Top 5, Scarlett asked him about his “biggest fear”.

“I have a question for you. What is your biggest fear? But don’t give me surface-level, a deep fear,” Scarlett asked.

In response, Dylan spoke candidly.

“I suppose my biggest fear in a relationship is just not being the bloke I should [be]. I want to be the best fella you’ve ever had, and if I can’t do that, I’m not happy with myself in a way,” he said.

The pair bonded over the shared sentiment that romantic partners should “bring the best out” in the other, and that it’s something they’re both looking for.

“You’re dead right,” Dylan said.

Scarlett was later chosen as one of Dylan’s Top 5 girls, alongside Ally, Renae, Lily and Tenille.

Farmer Dylan admits to stealing question from Scarlett for Ally

Farmer Dylan admitted to WHO he hadn’t ever thought about asking the question during a date before, but after Scarlett asked the question during their speed date, he decided to ask Ally the same thing.

“It’s such an important question; it’s really relevant to get to know someone,” Dylan told WHO.

“When Scarlett asked that, I’m a pretty open book, and I gave her my answer. I think with Ally, it was important because the 24-hour date is very special. After all, you do get to spend all that time with them. I really wanted to jump in and really figure out if we’re going to work in the long run… If you’ve got fears that are opposite, then it could not work.

“So yeah, Scarlett asked me that question and it’s something I’d never thought about.

“I don’t know why I never thought about it, but I was grateful to hear it.”

Farmer Dylan’s response was different for each girl

After Dylan asked the question, Ally shared that her biggest fear in a relationship was infertility, expressing that she has a deep desire to carry her own children.

“Something I really badly want to experience is having my own children, having a pregnancy, being able to grow a family of my own.

“I’d be really devastated if I wasn’t able to experience pregnancy, as it’s something I really look forward to and it’s something I’ve always wanted,” Ally said.

When she asked Dylan the same question, interestingly, his answer was different from what he said to Scarlett.

“I don’t want to die being nothing,” Dylan admitted. “I want to leave something… I don’t want to be forgotten.”

The pair bonded over what a scary thought that is, with Ally sharing she had felt similarly in the past.

In a bid to appease his worries, she explained that being important and “meaning something” to your loved ones can be enough of a purpose, and encouraged Dylan to feel content with that, too.

“It’s improved my view on it,” Ally explained.
