Farmer Wants A Wife fans were left confused on Sunday night when one girl didn’t show up to Farmer Jason’s property, despite making the journey all the way into town.
Fellow contestant Jessica broke the news to Jason, saying, “So, Jessie has decided to leave, she has decided to go, sorry.”
Jason told the cameras that Jessie “had her reasons”, but he wished he’d had the opportunity to get to know her better.
“I thought we got on pretty well,” he said, clearly confused by the change of heart.
After a brief check-in visit where Jessie confessed it was “just not the right environment” for her, Jason was left disheartened, noting he had always worried about women not wanting to come to his farm.
The real reason behind Jessie leaving Farmer Wants A Wife

Speaking to WHO, Farmer Jason later revealed what was actually going on behind the scenes: Jessie simply couldn’t handle the reality TV cameras.
“She mentioned that the cameras weren’t for her; she had trouble dealing with the cameras,” he explained.
“I didn’t know what to think, obviously, I wasn’t expecting a girl to come all the way to Kingaroy and then say no, this isn’t what she wanted and she wanted to go back home.”
“I found it a bit strange,” he added.
Jason said that he assumes that she must have thought it might have been a different experience, and “maybe she couldn’t handle all the voxies,” referring to the pieces-to-camera/individual interviews the contestants do with producers.
Jessica walks off after Farmer Jason doesn’t send anyone home
Jessie’s abrupt departure wasn’t the only drama Jason faced.
Tensions boiled over later in the episode when Jessica —who had just enjoyed a successful date with the farmer—walked off after a surprising elimination twist.
Instead of sending someone home, Jason announced to the group that he was keeping everyone for another week to get to know them better.
While you’d expect that this would go down well with the ladies, Jessica shocked everyone with her revelation.
“It’s been really hard, but I’ve decided I’m not going to send anyone home today,” he told the group, with Jessica looking angry and sarcastically saying, “Thank you Jason, wow!”
Jason said that he expected Jessica to be relieved by it, but “it was quite the opposite”, and she was frustrated that no one went home.
The farmer told WHO that he was worried about what the audience would think of him.
“I was worried about how I was going to come across on the show,” he explained, adding he wondered if viewers would be asking, “What’s he like off camera?”
We’ll find out tomorrow whether Jessica decides to leave or gives Jason another chance…
