EXCLUSIVE: Farmer Wants A Wife’s Yvonne knew she had to reject Jarrad after this disappointing bedroom moment

Well, I didn’t expect that. Farmer Jarrad didn’t get to decide between his girls on Farmer Wants A Wife because Yvonne bowed out during the final decision, saying she wanted to find love but ultimately knew it wouldn’t be with Jarrad. Ouch.

It was a bold move, and one to be commended, with the case study manager admitting it was one of the “proudest moments” of her life, deciding to opt out rather than wait to find out if she’d been chosen, especially when she knew the relationship wasn’t right for her.

Despite Jarrad later confirming he had planned to pick Brodie, the damage had already been done, and Yvonne left with her head held high.

She told WHO many things brought her to the decision, but there was one moment in particular when she knew she needed to reject him.

The family visit was the beginning of the end

Despite the black tie event pushing further doubt into Yvonne’s mind about her connection with Jarrad — especially since he admitted to kissing Brodie more than her — it was when Jarrad visited at her home in Geelong and met her sister, cousin and best friend that the doubt became too much.

“I was hoping that he would feel comfortable enough to show that fun, goofy side with my family. But just like the viewers, I think they could see through him, as well. Like, why aren’t you opening up? You’ve got a small window; just be yourself,” she recalled to WHO.

Her loved one grilled Jarrad about his feelings towards Yvonne and what he saw in her (something that made me cringe while watching).

They later expressed that he seemed like a “genuine man” but closed off, something Yvonne continued to struggle with while trying to get to know him.

The moment Yvonne knew it was all over

While her loved ones expressed their concern and personified her fears during the family visit, it was a moment when the pair were in her bedroom that she decided he wasn’t the one for her.

“He went into my bedroom and then didn’t even ask any questions about the books I had, or the art that I shared with him. There was no inquiry about my life,” she said.

Ultimately, she felt the imbalance was too much, and decided she wanted someone who could be more open with her and be more invested in her own life — not just his life and the farm.
