Three of the five farmers have officially picked their lady on Farmer Wants A Wife, and in a move that shocked many of us, Farmer Jason picked Poppy over Logan. The dairy farmer had a tough time throughout the season, with three women leaving the show and bowing out of the competition for the 37-year-old’s heart.
From the start, Jason was eager to meet someone who could be a stepmother to his children, and ideally was looking for someone who was open to having more kids.
This was the major incompatibility between him and Poppy, who expressed that children weren’t a priority for her.
Because of this, his decision to pick the business development manager over Logan — a mum-of-two — has confused fans, and watching the show back, Logan told WHO that Jason’s behaviour around this topic really “icked” her out.
The hidden behaviour Logan once noticed watching the show back
Although it was widely known during filming that Poppy and Jason disagreed about having kids (so much so that Logan’s family brought it up with Jason during his visit), Logan says she was unaware that Jason kept expressing hope Poppy would eventually “change her mind” on the subject.
Logan said this would likely have been a deal-breaker if she’d known about it in real time.
“I think he definitely did think he could change her mind, which I don’t like,” Logan said. “You want to start a relationship with someone, but you’re wanting to change their mind about a really big thing? I don’t like that, that icks me.”
It was something that only became evident once Logan watched the show when it aired, with these comments often made by Jason to producers, and no one else.
“If I knew that when we were there, it would have been a big thing, so I was interested in watching that back,” she said.
Jason never spoke to Logan directly about age-gap concerns
Another issue that was only revealed to Logan while watching the show back was Jason’s concerns about her being almost 10 years younger than him.
This was news to Logan.
“[It was] never brought up directly to me. That’s another thing, hearing him comment on that a fair bit, especially in the last few episodes. It was very interesting for me, it never seemed to be an issue,” she said.
She believed her conversations with Jason about a potential future together were positive and aligned, so watching his concern about their age gap unfold didn’t sit well with Logan.
Fans react to Jason making the ‘wrong choice’
After Jason’s final decision aired on July 13, social media was flooded with one question: Why did he pick Poppy?
Not because fans didn’t like her, but because their incompatibility about children was evident from the get-go.
“He likes Poppy’s image; he wants what he can’t have. I like both girls for different reasons, but everyone [is] saying he didn’t suit her; I tend to agree,” one viewer said online.
“Logan is family orientated, not worried bout jet setting, just happy to be a mum. Isn’t that what a farmer would want?” another questioned, while a third simply called his decision the “wrong choice”.
Are Jason and Poppy still together?
Neither has spoken about their relationship status since the end of the show which wrapped at the end of last year; however, rumours online are suggesting they have since called it quits.
New Idea claims Jason and Poppy are no longer together, and we couldn’t even do a little internet sleuthing on Jason’s Instagram account because it’s currently private.
The photo Poppy shared of her and Jason dressed up on the final night of the show has a caption that reads, ‘Well, we glammed up pretty alright’ — a notably lukewarm comment on their relationship compared to Maya’s.
She was chosen by Zac and posted a photo with him on her Instagram that same day his decision aired.
It read: ‘The dress is giving ‘How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days’ but the heart doesn’t want to lose this guy in 10 days’.
We’ll need to wait until the reunion to find out if Jason and Poppy are still together!
