Hilary Duff is ready to reintroduce herself.
The actor and musician, who hasn’t released an album since Breath In Breathe Out over a decade ago has announced her next record is set for release in February 2026.
After signing with Atlantic Records in September, Hilary released the first single off the forthcoming album on November 6.
Titled ‘Mature’, the single reignited excitement among millennials everywhere who grew up idolising Lizzy McGuire and memorising the lyrics to Hilary’s early-2000s discography.
As we prepare for the new album, we’ve got everything you need to know about the record.

What Is Hilary Duff’s New Album Titled?
Hilary Duff’s next album is titled Luck … Or Something. She announced the name on Instagram. “My new album luck … or something is out on feb 20th ✨ so much love, late night anxiety and a little chaos went into making this album,” she wrote. “Hoping you see yourself in here the way I have 🪩🍒 I love you and excited is the largest understatement. psssst … you can pre-order it now!”
In a statement about the album, she elaborated on the meaning. “I am often asked how I still have my head on straight after growing up in this industry,” she said. “The album title is my way of answering that question. It’s luck, but there’s also a lot of weight in the ‘…or something.’
“Many of the things I’ve been through along the way are held there, and I feel like ultimately that’s what’s shaped me.”
When Is Hilary Duff’s New Album Being Released in Australia?

What is Hilary Duff’s new album about?
It should come as little surprise that Hilary’s new music is deeply personal.
Her lead single, ‘Mature,’ released on November 6, 2025, is framed as an internal conversation between her present self and her younger self.
The song explores a past relationship marked by a significant age gap, touching on themes like emotional naivety, power imbalance, and self-reflection.
Though she doesn’t explicitly name the person, many fans have put the dots together and linked the lyrics to her teenage relationship with Joel Madden. In saying that, Hilary has clarified in interviews that while the experience inspired the song, she took some artistic license to make the lyrics work.

In an interview with Vogue, she explained that the song isn’t just about a past lover but about reconciling who she was then with who she is now. She described the song as, “a little conversation that my present self is having with my younger self.”
Hilary also reflected on her place in her fans’ lives and how that impacts the reception of her work today. “I have the honour and joy of meaning so much to so many people during a very specific time in their lives,” she said. “But I’m ready to meet them again as the woman I am now.”
Who Worked on Hilary Duff’s New Album?
Building on the personal nature of the record, Hilary worked with her husband, Matthew Koma, on co-writing and producing tracks, including “Mature.”
The couple were married back in 2019, and have three children together: Banks, 7, Mae, 4, and Townes, 1. Matthew is also stepfather to Hilary’s 13-year-old son, Luca, from her previous marriage to Mike Comrie.

Earlier this year, she spoke candidly about wanting to work with people closest to her for the new record. “I always knew I was going to return to music,” she told Variety. “I needed to feel safe and I needed to have the right people in my corner and be absolutely 100% ready. Honestly, I needed to have 10 years of life under my belt. I needed a lot to say. This album feels like the inner workings of my brain and I really am so excited to connect with people again on that level, that very forward-facing level.”
The comeback will also be captured in a docuseries directed by Sam Wrench. It’ll chronicle Hilary’s life as she balances motherhood, her re-emergence in music, and preparing for live performances.
