Jimmy Nicholson’s dating history is currently one hot topic, given his season will begin airing next week!
He has been sharing his celebrity crushes, and divulging what he can from the filming of the show, but some new juicy goss has come to the front on the Life Uncut podcast today.
It turns out Jimmy had a near-miss with none other than Brittany Hockley, the breakout star from season six of The Bachelor, where Nick Cummins famously picked no one.
Appearing on the podcast, which is hosted by none other than Brittany herself, and fellow former Bachelor star Laura Byrne, Jimmy shared that he and Brittany once almost dated.
With Brittany currently overseas, Laura’s Bachelor-found fiancée, Matty J, joined as co-host to interview the pilot.
“The one thing I wanted to bring up, and that’s because she’s not here to defend herself – Brittany Hockley,” Laura said as the trio started discussing Jimmy’s dating history.
“I heard you guys matched on Tinder, maybe had a couple of chats – what happened there?” she asked teasingly.
Jimmy explained that while he hadn’t watched a whole heap of The Bachelor, he had kept across Nick Cummins’ season and remembered Brittany.
“I remember seeing Brittany on there and I was like, ‘she’s absolutely stunning, why didn’t he pick her?’” he divulged.
“Years later, I came out of a long-term relationship and hadn’t been single for a few years … then got on the apps, as a lot of people did last year, and I matched with Brittany.
“We were going to go on a date, a coffee date, and I think she flaked me, from memory,” Jimmy said with a laugh as Matty scolded Brit in the background.
Laura was quick to jump to Brittany’s defense – kind of.
“Brit was pretty good at picking like really crappy guys to date – this is going back last year, she’s very happy in a relationship now,” she explained.
“But any like normal, decent guy that came along she could find a good excuse not to go on that date, so maybe that’s a tick in your corner,” Laura told him.
Despite what could have been one very attractive couple, Jimmy and Brittany are now both seemingly coupled up and thrilled about it.
Jimmy divulged to Laura and Matty that he had dropped the L-bomb with his chosen partner from the show, and dropped hints about her personality by describing what he was looking for in a partner when he began filming.
The 32-year-old said he was looking for someone kind, who he could ideally also have a laugh with.
“Even looking at your relationship, you guys actually just take the piss out of each other,” he said to Laura and Matty, who are indeed one of the most beloved Bachelor couples in Australia.
Meanwhile, Brittany has begun a relationship with tennis player Jordan Thompson, and is currently travelling with him while he competes internationally.
“I found love, finally! It’s about time,” she told WHO earlier this year.
“It makes all the heartbreak and everything I have been through worth it.”
