After finally moving on from Miley Cyrus and getting his life back on track, sweet angel Liam Hemsworth has been slapped with a hefty lawsuit.

According to court documents obtained by E!, The Hunger Games actor is being sued by Splash News and Picture Agency for posting a paparazzi snap of himself to Instagram which was taken while filming his recent Netflix movie, Isn’t It Romantic.
As per the outlet, the Australian star is facing accusations of copyright infringement because he posted the photo without the photographer’s permission and failed to credit them.
“Hemsworth or someone acting on his behalf again posted the Photograph to Hemsworth’s Instagram Story twice on June 20, 2019,” the documents state. “That same day, there was a swipe-up feature on his Instagram story to encourage people to vote for the movie Isn’t It Romantic for the Teen Choice Movie Awards.”
The documents also state his intentions were “willful” and “malicious”— hard to believe, I know— and the copyright infringement could result in the hunky star having to pay a whopping $150,000.
“Plaintiff is informed and believes and on that basis alleges that defendant’s acts of copyright infringement, as alleged above, were willful, intentional, and malicious, which further subjects defendants to liability for statutory damages under Section 504(c)(2) of the Copyright Act in the sum of up to $150,000 per infringement,” the documents continued. “Within the time permitted by law, plaintiff will make its election between actual damages and statutory damages.”
Unfortunately, Liam is also in the thick of a nasty divorce from Miley, with the former couple set to face off in court at a status conference at the Stanley Mosk Courthouse, California, in the new year, according to Radar Online.
“It’s sure to get interesting,” a source also told US publication Life & Style. “Miley and Liam haven’t really spoken since they called it quits and the tension has been brewing.”
According to the source, a lot went on behind closed doors that no one really knows about, and this could come out in court.
“Sex scandals, drugs, jealous rages that could come out in the divorce proceedings. Liam isn’t above digging up dirt on her to try to explain his side of the story.”
While it will no doubt be an emotionally charged reunion, Liam has reportedly requested a third party be there to while they divide their assets amid speculation Miley’s “turned into a green-eyed monster” since he confirmed he’d moved on from her with Maddison Brown and now Gabriella Brooks.
“Miley and Liam have agreed to put their differences aside and meet for mediation talks – before their messy divorce spirals out of control,” a source close to the former couple of 10 years told British publication, Heat World.
“They’ve both calmed down now and Liam just wants this chapter done with, so he can move on. Liam was angry and bitter in the beginning, but his family calmed him down and he started to heal— especially when he realised he was falling in love again.”
