I think we can all agree Liam Hemsworth knows Miley Cyrus better than anyone.
WATCH: Miley slams ex Liam in an awkward live video with Cody
So it comes as no surprise that after 10 years together, the Hunger Games star was able to predict her next move and knew his ex-wife would publicly flaunt her short-lived relationship with Kaitlynn Carter, only to slap her new romance with Cody Simpson all over social media.
Seeing as he had time to brace himself and come up with strategies to deal with the drama that followed their acrimonious split, a source close to the Australian actor told E! News that he’s “stopped seeking out updates on her and what she’s gotten up to. He doesn’t want to hear about it and usually doesn’t.”
“Nothing is really a surprise at this point,” the insider continued. “He’s leaving it all in the past and is in a different place now. He is busy on set and working. That’s his focus now and what he is going to keep doing.”
While Liam “doesn’t care” about her silly antics, a source recently said Miley’s attention-seeking behaviour is all part of a scheme to get Liam’s attention. Apparently, the “Slide Away” singer is still obsessed with her ex-hubby— who she shares over 15 animals with— and is struggling to cope.
“She was drunk dialling him for a while, so now she’s resorted to social media to get his attention,” the source claimed.
Another pal in Liam’s camp confirmed he’s refusing to buy into her weak attempts to make him jealous, revealing he’s over her petty games.
“This romance with Cody, supposed hospital visit and constant ‘look at me’ behaviour is all designed to push Liam’s buttons — and to be fair it’s always worked in the past because he’s a good guy who ultimately loves her. But now he’s just rolling his eyes and washing his hands of her, even as a friend, which of course is driving Miley nuts,” the source continued, adding Liam is happy with his new girlfriend, Aussie actress Maddison Brown.
While Liam has kept quiet, Miley keeps taking sly digs at him.
Over the weekend, the pop star and her 22-year-old boyfriend joined an Instagram Live video where she took a subtle swipe at the Hollywood heartthrob, inferring that her relationship with Liam was so troubled, it made her lose faith in men. She later said his “evil” ways left her with no choice but to date women instead.
“I always thought I had to be gay because I just thought, like, all guys were evil, but it’s not true. There are good people out there that just happen to have d*cks. I’ve only ever met one…and he’s on this Live,” she said.
“There are good men out there, guys, don’t give up. You don’t have to be gay, there are good people with d**ks out there, you’ve just got to find them. You’ve got to find a d**k that’s not a d**k, you know.”
Understandably, her offensive comments didn’t sit well with many members of the LGBTQ community and after hundreds of fans called her out, she was forced to apologise. Cody later rushed to his girlfriend’s defence, admitting people took what she said the wrong way.
When asked about the scandal during last Tuesday night’s episode of The Project, he said: “Yeah she…. people took that the wrong way I think. Absolutely you don’t choose who you fall for or who you love, whatever gender or who you are.”
