She’s known for bringing her professional expertise in sexology to the MAFS contestants, but Alessandra Rampolla tends to keep her personal life private.
As she helps the brides and grooms navigate marriage on the show, we can’t help but wonder about the expert’s own love life. Here’s everything we know:
Who is Alessandra Rampolla?
Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Alessandra earned her Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy in the US and went on to pursue further studies in sexology and sexual education.
She’s appeared on TV shows including the international Emmy-nominated School For Husbands in Latin America, Sex Hospital in the UK and even as a regular guest on shows like Dr Phil.
Alessandra has hosted her own radio show and written five books on love, intimacy and relationships.
The sexologist replaced Dr Trisha Stratford in 2021 and revealed at the time, “One of my strongest core beliefs is that sexual expression and compatibility are vital in building, nourishing and maintaining healthy romantic relationships, and it is my pleasure to help guide our participants in balancing this important factor in their brave quest for love.”
Who is Alessandra Rampolla dating?
Alessandra appears to be the only expert who is single.
Her social media is full of photos of her professional life and getaways with her girlfriends so her relationship status is unclear.
As for her approach to dating, Alessandra admitted that she’s “thankfully” able to gauge who may be either intimidated or into her because of her job as a sexologist.
“In my personal life, I need someone who digs me, who connects with me … of course, I want really nice sexual meshing, it’s important, but my professional work is separate,” she told New Idea back in 2024.
“I go into dating as Alessandra. I definitely don’t go out there as a sexologist.”
Who was Alessandra’s ex-husband?
Before she became a regular on our TV screens, Alessandra was married to businessman John Hernandez.
The couple tied the knot in 2007 but divorced four years later in 2011 as Alessandra admitted to Woman’s Day that she wanted to stay in Argentina to raise a family while John wanted to return to Puerto Rico to be closer to his relatives.
“I did everything possible for us to be happy together, and I don’t regret anything I did,” she said.
“There was no drama between us, we love each other and we are friends but at a certain point, life just took us on a different path,” she said of her ex.
Does she have kids?
Now 51, Alessandra does not have children and hasn’t had plans to have them for years.
In her 2021 chat with Woman’s Day, she admitted, “I think they’re beautiful and I think motherhood is wonderful, but they just haven’t been a part of my life, and that’s the way things have turned out for me.
“But I’m so grateful and thankful because I have such an extraordinary life and I wouldn’t change any of it.”
