Her Married At First Sight marriage may not have worked out, but former MAFS star Davina Rankin is offically engaged to her partner, Jaxon Manuel. And not only did her fiancé surprise her with an engagement party, but he also made it a 30th birthday bash too!
Over the weekend, the 30-year-old Brisbane local celebrated with her close family and friends, including their daughter, Mila-Mae and admitted she was “blown away” by Jaxon’s surprise.
“I am just absolutely blown away at the amount of effort my amazing fiancé (wow so weird actually saying that now) has put into this incredible weekend,” she wrote in an Instagram post about the event.
“He literally thought of everything, and to top it off, he threw me the best birthday [and] engagement party ever. Absolutely above and beyond anything I could have imagined!”
Organised by her husband-to-be, Jaxon, the party was decorated in millennial pink and gold-tinted furniture. The Brisbane businessman was assisted by his secret planning committee – Davina’s best pals, Dollradin and Gilzy_ on Instagram – with Chloe Patt helping him shop for a ring.
“Honestly still pinching myself, and feeling so incredibly grateful to know I get to do the rest of my life with my best friend in the world. Mr & Mrs Manuel here we come baby.”
Davina shared her engagement news just days before when she shared a photo of herself flaunting her diamond ring whilst Jaxon sweetly kisses her.
“I guess 30 isn’t looking too bad after all,” captioned the post, that was instantly flooded with congratulatory messages.
“Congratulations Gorgeous, you deserve all the happiness in the world,” Bachelor star Keira Maguire commented.
“Omg YES 👏👏🥂🥂💕 congratulations you two! That’s amazing news. So so happy for you both. You deserve all the love in the world!! Enjoy this love bubble xoxox,” remarked Block 2019 winners Tess and Luke.
Davina rose to fame on the fifth season of Married At First Sight when she was matched with Ryan Gallagher and was in the centre of a cheating scandal with fellow groom, Dean Wells.
She started dating Jaxon shortly after her time on the show and the couple welcomed daughter Mila-Mae in November 2019.
“He’s literally the male version of me, our personalities are so similar,” she revealed when asked what she loves about Jaxon back in 2018.
“He’s full of positivity, he’s motivated, (he’s bloody gorgeous), he’s extremely smart [and] he honestly motivates me and inspires me everyday.”
