My Kitchen Rules 2026 has wasted no time serving up the drama, with Alisha and Deanne finding themselves at the centre of one of the season’s biggest clashes so far.
The self-proclaimed “Classy Bogans” have already found themselves on the receiving end of plenty of teasing over their mispronunciations, with tensions finally boiling over during Angus and Simon’s Instant Restaurant.
After a heated conversation about whether a salad needed more “acid” or “acidity”, Alisha stormed out of the restaurant, leaving the other contestants at the table stunned. But while viewers watched the dramatic walk-out unfold, there were two people who had absolutely no idea what was going on: Angus and Simon.
Speaking to WHO, the pair have revealed what they were actually doing while the drama unfolded, and it turns out they initially thought the commotion outside was coming from the production crew.
‘We heard heaps of noise’
While Alisha was outside with Deanne, Angus and Simon were busy in the kitchen preparing their Instant Restaurant.
Then they heard a whole lot of noise.
“I don’t know whether you should use this or not, but we were in the kitchen cooking and we heard heaps of noise,” Simon told WHO.
“I looked at Angus and I was like, jeez, we thought it was some production crew out the back having a good time.”
The pair even watched as a member of the production team went to investigate, but they still didn’t realise what was actually happening.
“And they’re like, ‘no, there’s literally no one down there’,” Simon recalled. “But we still didn’t clue into as to what the noise was, but then later found out that, yeah, Alisha got a little bit upset, I guess.”
And it wasn’t just the commotion outside that left them confused. Back inside the restaurant, Angus and Simon could see the other contestants looking decidedly miserable, but had no idea why.
“Well, we could just see people’s faces. We had no idea,” Angus said. “You just look out and you see everyone’s face just as absolutely… like they’re having the worst time of their lives.”

The pair even started wondering whether something had gone seriously wrong with their Instant Restaurant.
“We thought, ‘is it that bad’?” Angus said. “Yeah, no, you’re like, ‘surely it’s not us’.”
Considering the drama was unfolding around them while they were completely oblivious in the kitchen, it’s safe to say Angus and Simon had a very different experience of Alisha’s walk-out to the rest of the contestants.
And honestly, we’re not sure what’s funnier, the fact they missed the entire drama, or that they thought the production crew were simply having a great time out the back.
