What happened to Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry?

This isn’t the first time Katy and Orlando have broken up… When the two first started dating in 2016, they broke up a year later in 2017 and didn’t get back together until 2018.

During an interview with Alex Cooper on the Call Her Daddy podcast, Katy explained the split and said, “We weren’t really in it from day one.

“He was, because he had just done a huge time of celibacy and he had set intentions. I was fresh out of a relationship, and I was like, I can’t do this anymore. I need to swim in a different pond, but I had to do a lot real work.”

For context, Orlando had attended a week-long retreat called The Hoffman Process – which helps to identify negative patterns in your brain developed as a child. It was after his time here that the pair realised they wanted different things.

“He went there, and he wasn’t playing that cat-mouse game anymore,” Katy explained.

“And I was like, ‘This is boring. I’m moving on.’ I was so used to this push-pull. Because once you have it. I was playing games.”

It wasn’t until Katy did the process herself that they saw eye to eye.

“I finally went to Hoffman towards the end of that year that we were separated, and I got the tools…We spoke the same language,” she shared.

After that, they reconnected… It’s not yet known whether they’ll be able to once again reconcile after the 2025 split.
