Fellow Housewife Lisa Rinna was your way in on the show. Did she slip you any tips before filming?
Lisa is so funny. She gave me some secret pointers that are private! She did tell me, though, when you’re on a show that’s scripted and you have your mic on, if the camera’s not on you, you’re off-camera. This is different. If the camera’s on, then you’re being recorded all the time.

Did you ever get caught out?
Well, yeah. I definitely said some things I shouldn’t have!

Do you find it funny that people still think the show is scripted?
It’s not scripted! I was shocked [to find that out]. I thought there has to be a script there. But there’s not. I found that very refreshing because then you can really be yourself. And I’m genuinely reacting to whatever is going on. I don’t think of this as a job, I don’t think of us as a cast because to me a cast is scripted. This is capturing moments of us together. I don’t even call them scenes. [Lisa] introduced me genuinely and I’ve made real friends.

What else are you up to?
I’ve started doing The Bold and The Beautiful. It’s a crazy pace. I was doing press in New York for Housewives, flew home and that morning I had to go to set and shoot three episodes. It was over 50 pages of dialogue and I had anxiety about it.
