Australian Ninja Warrior is returning in 2027 through Network 10, with all new hosts, courses, and — of course — ninjas promising to entertain.
The series originally aired on Channel Nine, but was cancelled in 2022 after six seasons due to noise complaints, reduced ratings, and rising costs.
Now, Network 10 has acquired the series, announcing that the show is making its glorious return next year with Robert Irwin joining the fresh group of hosting faces sure to tempt viewers to tune in.
Who are the new hosts of Australian Ninja Warrior 2027?
During Network 10’s Upfronts in Melbourne on Wednesday, October 28, the broadcaster announced that wildlife warrior Robert Irwin and presenters Georgie Tunny and Beau Ryan will be the series’ new hosts.
I mean, can you name a better trio?
“I’m thrilled to be joining Australian Ninja Warrior as host, and usher in a new age for this legendary show,” Irwin commented. “I grew up as a fan of Ninja Warrior, as it celebrates courage, determination and people who push their limits to discover what they’re truly capable of.
“This new era of Ninja will bring everything we love about the show to a whole new level. The competition is fierce, and I can’t wait to take viewers right into the heart of the action and share the experience with them.”
Naturally, the internet has exploded with excitement online after hearing this news, with celebrities like Abbie Chatfield commenting “YESSSSS” and 2020 Australian Ninja Warrior winner Ben Polson joking that he’s “looking forward to a 14yr old taking [his] crown”.
Even Irwin himself has teased that he’s looking forward to “giving the course a go” and we honestly can’t think of anything better than witnessing this wildlife warrior enter a whole new warrior arena.
This news comes after Irwin was the subject of a major network bidding war this year. From hosting the TV Week Logie Awards and appearing as a guest judge on MasterChef Australia 2026 to wrapping up his time on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! with co-host Julia Morris, Irwin has certainly had a busy year.
Luckily for Robert Irwin fans, the Australian public is not quite done with seeing this 22-year-old charm our screens, and so it looks like this new hosting gig may just be the start.
