Big Brother Australia’s Jane reveals a dating show was her first choice

We did not see this coming!

Jane, who made headlines as the oldest person to ever enter a Big Brother house, opened up on The Pickup on November 24, revealing a surprising twist about her reality TV journey.

The 67-year-old, a single mother, grandmother, and retiree, has captured fans’ hearts not just for her age-defying presence but for her candid and unapologetic personality.

She didn’t shy away from calling out behaviour she found disrespectful, most notably when she blasted some of the younger male housemates for farting, calling it “inappropriate.”

On Sunday, November 23, we saw Jane evicted in a double elimination, leaving the house after only a few short weeks.

Whilst fans will remember her for her outspokenness, the 67-year-old has since opened up that she had initially applied to appear on The Golden Bachelor.

As a single woman navigating life at 67, Jane’s openness about her desire to meet someone special resonated with many, adding another layer to her already compelling public persona.

Though her time in the Big Brother house was short, Jane’s journey reminds fans that age is no barrier.

Despite entering the Big Brother house rather than the Bachelor mansion, Jane shared with TV WEEK that she wouldn’t trade her experience for anything.

“It was a great experience. The production people are fabulous and I just love Big Brother,” she raves.

“When I was struggling, I’d go in and have a chat with Big Brother and leave feeling on top of the world. He was fantastic and they really care for you. The whole show really cares.”

However, in The Pickup, the idea was also floated to Jane of The Golden Bachelorette, could we see the former contestant appearing on our screens again? Keep an eye out on this page for any updates!
