Married at First Sight Australia has once again served up its fair share of couple chaos for 2025, but it appears that not every contestant got the memo that reality TV romances are almost always plagued with drama.
Despite entering the competition as intruders, contestants Teejay and Beth seemed to be one of the franchise’s most smooth-sailing romances during the first half of the season.
But, as we reached the final vows, audiences were left scratching their heads when the couple’s final vows weren’t shown.
So are they still together? We’re looking back at Teejay and Beth’s complete MAFS journey.

What happened at Teejay and Beth’s wedding?
Straying far away from the snarky remarks and gossip that dominated the wedding days of their fellow contestants, Teejay and Beth’s nuptials were refreshingly normal, and despite having never been in a relationship before, Beth quickly took to her new life as a wife.
“I’ve come from such a beautiful family, so I know what it feels like to be loved and supported. I’m hoping when I meet my husband, I can just throw all that love at him,” she said shortly before walking down the aisle.
Following their first meeting at the altar, it was clear that there was some insane chemistry between the new couple, and when it came time for Teejay to say his vows, the former Big Brother star made his intentions known.
“I’m ready to love deeply and without reservation. I’ll always be the one to make you smile when you’re down and the one to hold you close when the world feels overwhelming… I’m ready to start laying the foundation for a life with someone special, and I hope it’s you.”

Inside their MAFS journey
Throughout most of the season, many believed Teejay and Beth were one of the only couples from this year’s season that could break the MAFS curse.
Looking back on their early relationship, Teejay told the experts, “We’re smooth sailing. We’re like two cups of still water.”
“From the wedding, I think we connected really well and just bantered off each other and honestly, we’ve just been taking the piss out of each other ever since,” he continued.

Although their relationship started strong, Teejay and Beth couldn’t completely avoid their fair share of MAFS drama.
During their last couch confessional, Teejay admitted that he had felt a “connection issue” between him and Beth, however, expert Alessandra Rampolla was quick to clap back, saying, “There is a problem with connection because you’re not wanting to connect with her.”
With all eyes now resting on him, Teejay finally admitted that he simply doesn’t feel a romantic connection with his new bride and doesn’t think it can grow – revealing his decision to leave.

After voting to stay, Beth told 9Entertainment that she was “absolutely gutted” to discover that Teejay was ready to give up on their relationship.
“I was super embarrassed… I just remember the feeling in my stomach. It was horrible,” she shared.
“I felt really stupid because I obviously tried to get an answer out of him of what he wanted to do and he wouldn’t tell me. When I saw that he wrote leave, I was devastated. I was really, really hurt.”
Despite the very clear miscommunication, Teejay explained that he kept his cards close to his chest as he “didn’t want to manipulate her answer with what I was doing or what I was going to do.”
“It was hard for me to write leave. but I think that considering how I made Beth feel, it was only right to write leave and not give her mixed emotions because that is how I was feeling in the moment.”

Are Teejay and Beth still together?
As the couple headed into the final episode, fans were unsure how their final vows would play out. But, in a turn of events, the pair ended up choosing to leave the experiment before the ceremony.
It didn’t come as a complete surprise since Teejay wrote ‘leave’ and Beth wrote ‘stay’ during the last commitment ceremony, but now an insider is claiming there was also another reason behind the couple’s early departure.
Speaking to Yahoo! Lifestyle, the insider claimed that it was actually producers who pushed for the pair to leave “in a bid to cut costs.”
“They both already knew it was over, and as much as Beth was ready to go home, she also would’ve loved a chance to have an empowering moment where she told Teejay just how much he’d hurt her,” the source reportedly told the publication.
“Producers didn’t think it would be worth the expense of them organising an entire ceremony for this to happen, or make sense to viewers as there would be no suspense to their final decision.”
