This year, The Voice Australia will be unlike any other season that came before it thanks to the show switching from its longtime home at Nine to Seven.
Gone are veteran coach Delta Goodrem and fellow members of the judging panel, Boy George and Kelly Rowland as well as co-hosts Darren McMullen and Renee Bargh.

While the singing show will now be hosted by Sonia Kruger, who helmed previous incarnations, it didn’t take long for last season’s host Renee to land on her feet.
Last week it was announced the 35-year-old is Stan’s newest ambassador. And although Renee confessed she was sad about being axed from The Voice, she’s already loving her new gig which she described as a “no-brainer” career move.
“Of course I was bummed because I just loved that show and I loved my experience on the show and I’m a huge fan of it,” Renee shared with WHO.
But the TV star has pragmatic view of her job loss and the constant shake-ups in the industry.
“I’m also kind of used to it in the TV world,” Renee explained.
“Things like that happen all the time. Everything’s always chopping and changing networks and I never really let myself get too bummed out or upset about things like that because I really do trust the universe and believe that everything happens for a reason and one door close and another five to 10 open.”
You might think that Renee, Delta and Darren, who are all famously close, would mark the end of an era when it came to The Voice, the COVID pandemic sadly put a stop to that.
“It was a weird time when the show ended. We were kind of in the COVID bubble where we couldn’t have a wrap party and we didn’t know what was happening with the show next or anything like that so no, we didn’t really get to [say goodbye]” she admitted.
“But Delta and I watched as many episodes as we could together and we were really, really proud of what we did with the show. But because of the timing of it all, there wasn’t a big celebration.”
Now that she’s joined the Stan family, Renee, who returned home from her Los Angeles base last year, is keen to reunite with honorary Australian, Zac Efron, who is set to star in Stan original Gold.
“I definitely would love to interview Zac. I know him and have met him and obviously see him around Byron and we have a lot of mutual friends,” Renee said.
“I think he’s great, I used to interview him back in the US as well so I would love the opportunity to interview him in Australia and I’m so excited for his project as well. He’s incredible and I know he’s just fallen in love with Australia and we’re all here for it.”
