Meghan Markle could be set to make her acting comeback eight years after leaving it all behind to join the royal family.
After exiting hit legal drama Suits, executives believe the Duchess of Sussex is still perfectly suited to playing paralegal Rachel Zane.
Meghan starred in the show from 2011 to 2018, with the series continuing for another two seasons after her departure to marry Prince Harry.
Will Meghan Markle star in a Suits movie?
The series became an unexpected chart‑topper on Netflix in 2023, and it’s now been reported there are early talks at reprising the characters in a movie, with executives looking to cash in on the renewed popularity.
“They believe it’s a no-brainer,” a source told British newspaper The Express.
“The original Suits show still attracts a massive audience on streaming giants Netflix and Peacock as well as endless reruns on terrestrial TV stations across America, in large part because of the popularity of her character Rachel Zane.”

Since stepping down as a senior royal, Meghan has returned to the entertainment industry with a goal of becoming a showrunner though her Archewell Productions company.
There are also claims that Meghan may even be offered the opportunity to come on board as an “executive producer” to entice her back in front of the camera.
Following the reports, a spokesperson for Meghan said there was “no truth” to the rumours.
However, this could be because the project is in early stages and she has not yet been approached with an offer.
Is there a Suits movie in production?
Of course, even if Meghan chose not to return, a film could still reunite her former co‑stars, including Gabriel Macht, Rick Hoffman and Patrick J. Adams.
Meghan quit acting in 2017 when she moved to the UK to begin a new life focused on philanthropic work.
“I don’t see it as giving anything up,” she told the BBC during her engagment interview. “I just see it as a change. It’s a new chapter, right?”

Since the pair moved to the US amid estrangement from the royal family and have been forced to pay their own way, Meghan has returned to TV, filming two seasons and a holiday special of her With Love, Meghan lifestyle show, which has since been cancelled.
When will Meghan Markle be back on screens?
Still, there have been other signs she’s ready to dip her toe back into performing amid talk of financial issues.
While visiting Australia in April, she filmed a cameo on MasterChef which fans can enjoy on Network 10 later this year.

Last year on November 6, Meghan was spotted at Amazon MGM Studios in LA filming Close Personal Friends.
The film stars Lily Collins, Brie Larson, Jack Quaid and Henry Golding as two couples — and Meghan appears as herself.
“This is a massive moment for Meghan and signifies a return to doing what she truly loves,” a studio source told The Sun.
“She has been swamped with offers but this one felt right. It is Meghan’s way of gently putting her toe back in the water and seeing how she enjoys being back on set.”
The source added that Prince Harry is “very supportive” and “wants Meghan to do whatever brings her joy.”
