Fans have been patiently waiting for Euphoria Season 3 ever since Season 2 premiered in early 2022, and we now have an official return date!
Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Hunter Schafer and Jacob Elordi are among those returning for the season that’s been four years in the making.
The new season will take place five years after the characters were last seen.
Here’s everything we know about Euphoria Season 3:
When will Euphoria Season 3 premiere?
HBO announced that the third season of Euphoria would premiere on April 12, 2026, with new episodes dropping weekly.
Just like seasons one and two, there will be eight episodes.
What happens in the trailer for Euphoria Season 3?
Buckle up because the trailer for Season 3 is packed with intense scenes.
We see Zendaya’s character Rue in trouble with drug dealers in this series.
Sweeney’s Cassie is becoming a cam girl while married to Elordi’s Nate, and Schafer’s Jules is now a sugar baby.
We were being serious when we said a lot happens!
The official logline reads: “A group of childhood friends wrestle with the virtue of faith, the possibility of redemption, and the problem of evil.”
During his Variety Actors on Actors interview with Gwyneth Paltrow, Jacob Elordi said he wasn’t sure if the third season was “a completely different thing.”
“Whether it works or not, I don’t know,” he continued. “There’s a chance that what I’ve done is not good.”
When is Euphoria Season 3 set?
The third season of Euphoria is set five years after the ending of Season 2.
The show’s creator, Sam Levinson, explained the reasoning behind this.
He shared: “The one thing we all agreed on is we can’t go back to high school – although many, many shows have had 30-year-old high school students, we’re not.”
“Five years felt like a natural place [to jump] because if they had gone to college they’d be out of college at that time,” he added.

When did Euphoria Season 3 start filming?
Production officially began for Season 3 as of February 2025.
“I am thrilled that we are ready to begin production on Euphoria in January,” HBO Executive Vice President of Programming, Francesca Orsi, said in a statement.
“We could not be happier with our creative partnership with Sam [Levinson] and this incredible cast. We are looking forward to bringing this new season of Euphoria to life for the fans.”

Who is in the cast of Euphoria Season 3?
The entire main cast of core characters will be returning to reprise their roles; however, some cast members have previously confirmed that they will not be returning to the show.
Speaking on the Armchair Expert podcast in April 2023, Barbie Ferreira, who portrays Kat, announced that she would not be reprising her role in the upcoming season, stating that she and director Sam Levinson came to a “mutual decision.”
“I don’t think there was a place for [Kat] to go, there were places she could have gone, but I just don’t think it would have fit into the show… for me, I really wanted to be able to not be the fat best friend- really don’t want to play that, and I think they didn’t want it either.”
“It was a struggle for both parties – Sam, me – it was a struggle to find the continuation of her so that was actually really hurtful, watching it and seeing the fans get upset,” she continued, adding, “Sam writes for things that he relates to.”
“I don’t think he relates to Kat,” she said.

If you’re up to date with the latest season, you’ll know there’s currently a big question mark hanging over Rue’s fate.
Sam told ELLE that he sees season three as a “film noir” through which Rue will “explore what it means to be an individual with principles in a corrupt world.”
Sadly for fans, the tragic passing of star Angus Cloud in July 2023 has meant that Fezco’s storyline in the series has drawn to a close.
Prior to Angus’ passing, his co-star Colman Domingo shared with Teen Vogue that he was slated to play a central role in Euphoria season three.
“I’m sure it affected the creation of season three because Angus was going to be a very strong part of it… We came together as a cast many times to grieve, to mourn, to laugh, and enjoy all the things we know about Angus.”

Who is new in Euphoria season 3?
Don’t worry, our favourites are still returning. But the show has also added 18 new cast members to season 3, including Trisha Paytas, Natasha Lyonne, Danielle Deadwyler and Eli Roth.
Other newcomers this season include Sharon Stone, Rosalía, Natasha Lyonne, Danielle Deadwyler and Marshawn Lynch.
This season will also see Oscar-winning Hans Zimmer join as composer.

How many episodes are in Euphoria Season 3?
The demand for an extended run-time of Euphoria is at an all-time high.
Despite the fan fervour, HBO executive Casey Bloys told Variety ahead of production, “I know the show gets a lot of attention now because it has created some genuine movie stars.
“And they have various projects they are working on, but we are shooting this season, so nothing has changed,” he added.
Bloys then confirmed: “It’s eight episodes.”
