There are many things to be said about HBO’s controversial new series The Idol, starring certified neo-baby Lily-Rose Depp and the singer formally known as The Weeknd.

However despite its controversies, it is undeniable that the beauty looks from the show are throwing us back to the viral hit that was Euphoria

The Idol  has certainly received its fair share of criticism, with viewers already calling for the cancellation of season two. From its unnecessarily graphic NSFW scenes, ick-inducing acting and the fact that the story has greatly swayed from the plotline created by the original director Amy Seimitz, The Idol is living (and perhaps dying) by the saying ‘all publicity is good publicity’.

Despite all of this, we can’t help but find beauty inspo in the shows sultry and sculptural looks, created by makeup artist Kirsten Coleman.

Coleman was the artist behind some of the viral looks from season one of Euphoria, which was also directed by The Idol‘s Sam Levinson, so there is no wonder we are picking up some similarities.

With pops of bold colour, statement liner and smoky lids, the beauty of The Idol feels like a more ‘realistic’ and wearable alternative to the dopamine-filled rave-ready makeup looks of Euphoria.

Below we are taking a look at some of our favourite looks of the show and products you can shop to nail that “nasty bad pop girl” makeup. As well as some of the exact products used on set to achieve these looks.
