Reese Witherspoon’s production company Hello Sunshine has already served us with some incredible book-to-tv adaptations and now, Reese’s Book Club is adding another streaming moment to their list with their latest on-screen interpretation – Lucky.
Based on Marissa Stapley’s best-selling novel of the same name, production has officially kicked off in Las Vegas and in *major* news for fans, the upcoming series will see Anya Taylor-Joy make her long-awaited return to TV alongside Outer Banks star (and our eternal hot boy of the month) Drew Starkey.

What is Lucky about?
While we don’t know yet how true Lucky will stay to its source material, the original novel follows the story of Lucky Armstrong, a talented grifter who has just pulled off a million-dollar heist, and her accomplice boyfriend Cary.
After transforming into her new identity, Lucky leaves behind her boyfriend and her father, who both were fundamental in teaching her how to execute the perfect scam. Despite beginning her brand-new life, her plans are suddenly derailed when she discovers that the multi-million dollar lottery ticket that she purchased on a whim would not be her ticket to the freedom she had hoped for.
With the shadow of the heist still looming, her excitement is underscored by one major problem: cashing in the winning ticket would lead to her arrest.

Who is the cast of Lucky?
Leading the cast as Lucky and Cary are Mad Max star Anya Taylor-Joy and Queer’s Drew Starkey.
Anya’s appearance in the upcoming season marks her first television role in over three years, with the 28-year-old last taking to the screen as Gina in the final season of Peaky Blinders.
Starring alongside Anya and Drew is Apples Never Fall star Annette Bening, who joins the cast as “dangerous mob leader” Priscilla, in addition to Origin’s Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor as Agent Billie Rand, and Timothy Olyphant as Lucky’s father, John.
The series is also reportedly set to be directed by Shōgun‘s Jonathan Van Tulleken, who also serves alongside Anya as executive producer.
