Since making her debut on the 2008 red carpet, Taylor Swift has become a regular feature on the Met Gala’s annual best-dressed list.
While she may be best known for her sleek and structured old Hollywood style, Taylor’s Met Gala appearances have marked both her musical and style evolution from country queen to pop princess.
Although she may have been a frequent attendee in the early 2010s, the singer has not graced the New York steps since 2016, leaving many fans questioning whether the 2025 fundraiser will mark her long-awaited return to the Met Gala.
As Swifties continue to keep a keen eye out for her next look, we take a look back at Taylor’s best Met Gala red carpet fashion.
Taylor Swift’s best Met Gala red carpet looks

2016 | Manus x Machina: Fashion in the Age of Technology
Taylor last took to the Met Gala red carpet in 2016 to celebrate the Manus x Machina exhibition.
Attending the fundraiser as co-chair, Taylor wore a metallic Louis Vuitton mini dress and cut-out knee-high boots. In typical Taylor fashion, the singer debuted her new platinum blonde bob ahead of the release of her Reputation album.

2014 | Charles James: Beyond Fashion
Sticking with her streak of vintage-inspired looks, Taylor walked the 2014 Met Gala red carpet in a backless blush gown by Oscar de la Renta.

2008 | Superheroes: Fashion and Fantasy
Attending her first Met Gala in 2008, Taylor commemorated the superhero-inspired theme in a reflective gold gown by Badgley Mischka.
Is Taylor Swift going to the Met Gala?
The guest list of the 2025 Met Gala is kept under wraps until the big day, but fans are hoping Taylor Swift will be making her long-awaited return to this year’s fundraiser.
Many thought she and boyfriend Travis Kelce would attend last year, but due to scheduling conflicts with her global Era’s Tour, she opted to skip the event.
This year, fans are hopeful since her tour has finished and she’s been lying low in America.
“Taylor is simply enjoying some alone time with Travis and being under the radar for a little bit,” a source told Page Six in March.
Does that mean she will be attending? It looks like we’ll have to wait a few more days to find out, but fingers crossed!
