Guys, we have a sneaky suspicion Matt Agnew is about to pull a Blake Garvey on us and pick the third runner up to be the future Mrs Agnew.
On Monday night, fans of The Bachelor went into meltdown when he oddly claimed while appearing on Ten’s quiz show Have You Been Paying Attention? that he’s “with someone from the show”— subtly implying it’s not the lady he gives the final rose to. The 31-year-old has since addressed claims he doesn’t end up with the winner, revealing this morning on the Kyle and Jackie O show that he’s intentionally trying to keep viewers guessing so they don’t get “bored”.
“I like being suitably vague and I like keeping the audience guessing,” Matt said when asked whether he’s going to pick one woman and change his mind afterwards. “It’d be boring if it was too easy, wouldn’t it?”
NO MATT, IT WOULDN’T BE!!!
After last year’s disastrous season— in which Nick Cummins led dozens of women on before refusing to pick a winner— Matt promised fans of the popular dating franchise that season seven was going to be different.
Asked whether he’d found The One ahead of the show’s premiere, Matt told The Courier Mail, “Yes, I have. I’m delighted with how the process worked out for me, and I’m very, very happy. I went into it [the show] pretty confident in myself and that I would make the right decision for me,” the affable Bachelor said.
In other juicy Bachie news, The Sydney Morning Herald sensationally revealed yesterday that Matt doesn’t work as an astrophysicist, instead, he pushes paper at National Australia Bank (NAB).
According to the outlet, the hunky reality TV star has been working as an analyst at NAB’s Melbourne head office for the past three months on secondment. Strangely enough, his current day job isn’t listed on his lengthy LinkedIn profile— Perhaps Network Ten is riding the “brainy” wave all the way to the finale?
Unfortunately, NAB wasn’t prepared to confirm Matt’s position, with a spokesperson for the bank claiming they keep their staff’s information private.
“We treat personal information about our employees and contractors as confidential,” a spokeswoman said. “Quantium do from time to time provide contractors to NAB.”
Despite all of this, Matt— who’s no doubt the most qualified Bachelor to join the series—still maintains he studies planetary science.
“My specific research is about planetary science, so the stuff I’m doing is trying to figure out where another planet like Earth could exist, so we could actually look and find it,” said Matt, who has a double undergraduate degree in science and engineering as well as a masters in astrophysics.
We don’t know what to believe anymore!
