The Block is all set to return in 2025 for its 21st season.
But before the renovation show kicks off, meet the contestants who will be competing this year…
Who are the teams in The Block 2025?
Sonny and Alicia
Married, with three kids, Sonny and Alicia are ecstatic to be joining The Block; especially because they were shortlisted for the Phillip Island season.
“I was really upset last year that we just missed out, so when we got the call to say we were in, it was an amazing feeling,” Alicia says.
In terms of experience, Sonny and Alicia built their current family home and have renovated a granny flat in the past.
Plus, Sonny has worked as a plumber for the last 25 years.
Robby and Mat
Robby and Mat are best mates from Adelaide, and out of the five teams this year, have the least experience when it comes to renovating.
“If someone had told me with a crystal ball the likelihood of going on The Block or my house burning down, I would have said my house burning down,” Matt admits.
Robby is a 37-year-old barber and business owner, while Mat is a 41-year-old hairdresser & stylist and business owner.
Han and Can
Relatively new couple (they started dating about a year ago) Han and Can are from Perth.
Han, 29, works as a geologist and Can, 31, works as a marketing and social media analyst.
The two are currently renovating their own home and Han has previously helped her dad renovate houses.
Britt and Taz
Britt and Taz are happily married with two kids and live in Newman – a mining town 12 hours north of Perth.
“I wanted to apply for The Block for years, but it was never the right timing… The timing now is right,” Britt says.
Both Britt and Taz are police officers but have completed many projects in their home.
“I would say we could be classed as amatuer renovators,” Taz says.
Emma and Ben
Emma and Ben have applied for The Block SEVEN times. The two are OBVIOUSLY over the moon that they’ve finally been selected!
The married couple have the most experience out of the five teams this year; they’ve flipped many a house.
When they’re not flipping houses, Emma works as a dance teacher and Ben works as an engineer (although he aspires to be a firefighter).
