Two years after Beyoncé touched on her husband’s infidelities in her solo album Lemonade, and following on from Jay-Z’s 2017 album 4.44, fans of Jay and Bey have finally revealed the truth about their imperfect relationship.
The power couple—who have been married for over ten years—have finally released a collaborative album, Everything is Love—their first, and the final chapter in a trilogy of introspection into their relationship, which appears to have turned the corner from discord to strength after being scrutinised relentlessly in the press.
The pair announced their joint album during the second London show of the couple’s On The Run II tour early last month.
Unlike their usual light-hearted lyrics, each song has been carefully crafted to explain the inner workings of their seemingly mended relationship, which appears to go from strength to strength.
“We were using our art and music almost like a therapy session,” Jay-Z admitted early last month.
In their song Love Happy, Beyonce provides further insight into her husband’s indiscretions and how she has moved on from their tumultuous past. “You did some things to me/ Boy you do some things to me/ But love is deeper than your pain and I believe you can change,” the lyrics read.
It’s clear from the tone of the album as well as the touching lyrics that they are focused on rejoicing their reconciliation and celebrating the power of love, life and legacy.
