The moment we’ve all been waiting for has arrived. Kim Kardashian West made her highly anticipated Cannes Film Festival debut in a look that’s so sparkly (and so Kim), you’re bound to be doing a few double-takes.
The mom of two proved worthy of her ‘Snap Back Queen’ title at the de Grisogono Cannes party, showing off her post-baby weight loss in a two-piece gown featuring a nude body stocking underneath a silver, glittering design with a statement train. She also proved that she’ll be giving us nude selfies and nude bodysuits till she dies.
And the star definitely saved her head-turning accessories and makeup for the French Riviera. After skipping jewels, faux eyelashes and heavy makeup at the Webby Awards in N.Y.C., Kim transformed into a total glam goddess for the event opting for Cleopatra-inspired eye makeup (courtesy of her glam god Mario Dedivanovic), a sleek bun (catch the breakdown on Jen Atkin‘s Snapchat!) and some statement diamonds, which she spent time picking out alongside de Grisogono founder Fawaz Gruosi.
“I think it’s one of the most glamorous places,” the star told WHO earlier in the day of her first experience at the star-studded film festival. “Why not come here? It’s heaven!”
“Fawaz and I met years ago in Paris at an event – we sat next to each other,” she added. “I love jewelry and diamonds and even today seeing the pieces he has, and the rough diamonds that haven’t been cut yet are so crazy fascinating to me. It was a natural fit.”
Kardashian West gave a sneak peek at her jewelry try-ons on Snapchat, modeling $36 million worth of rings, and she told WHO her sisters will most likely “be jealous” of all the jewels.
“I just saw the most amazing stones and pieces. It’s fascinating to me, because not only did I see the different collections, and everything I saw were one-of-a-kind pieces, but I also saw the stones,” she said. “When you have the genius behind behind it … It’s really a fascinating process.”
Diamond hunting aside, Kardashian West said she felt very at home in the South of France. “There are armed guards everywhere so you feel very important!”
And she’s also taking notes on what pieces she wants to keep, telling WHO she’ll be informing husband Kanye West about “everything” she tried on.
