Pantones colour of the year this year is of course green which we have seen a strong connection to SS18 fashion.
We saw it first on international runaways like Givenchy and Loewe as well as in some of our favourite Aussie designers such as Bianca Spender and Camilla and Marc.
The shade preference are both muted greens and soft hues of green allowing this trend to seen across a mix of styles and worn by everyone. We are seeing soft sheer dresses and blouses which make for the perfect summer go to items as well as more masculine and strong pieces like oversized blazers and trousers.
The trick is to stick to a style which best suits your current wardrobe and lifestyle allowing you to add this pop of colour without having to think to hard about it.
We are also noticing this colour can sometimes be used as a neutral hue when it is of a more muted shade to help break a styled look and bring the look together.
Its becoming the new beige. Other colours which work great with green in an outfit are of course all shades neutrals yet if you are wanting to make more of a statement a pale pink, lavender, metallic and a light sky blue all work perfect together.
The idea is to mix different textures together while sticking to the same similar style of pieces. If you are wanting to make a bold statement with this trend then a head to toe look is for you otherwise a more subtle option is to incorporate a green swimsuit to your summer wardrobe or go for a green metallic heel.
