Everyone knows that feeling of having one or two too many cocktails and ending up with that uneasy feeling the next morning. And most people have a theory on how to cure a hangover. Well, it may soon be a thing of the past.
Scientist and former drugs adviser Professor David Nutt is close to launching his own formula for hangover free cocktails.
The drinks will have the same immediate effects as alcohol, but won’t give you that undesirable feeling the next day.
According to The Times, Professor Nutt plans to sell “alcosynth” drinks in bars by the early 2020s.
The reason why it doesn’t leave you with a hangover is because of compound called acetaldehyde. Alcosynths doesn’t cause a build up of the compound, unlike in normal alcohol, which means no hangover.
For the past decade he has been working on 80 different substances that mimc alcohol, but don’t leave you feeling uneasy. Out of all the options, there are now five with one being submitted to Britain’s Food Standard’s Agency.
Before it is submitted, Professor Nutt needs to raise $11.8 million to fund checks to make sure it’s fine for humans to consumer.
In the meantime, you can help yourself to a glass of hangover free prosecco.
