Here’s some news that all wine drinkers can cheers to – a bottle priced at just $7 has won a prestigious accolade at the Winestate Wine of the Year Awards.
Yep, you read that correctly – now you won’t have to break the bank to get a decent drop of your fave alcoholic beverage.
Story Bay Semillon Sauvignon Blanc 2017, which comes in at a very reasonable price tag of $7, was voted as best wine under $20 by a panel of expert judges made up of winemakers and wine scientists at the Winestate Wine of the Year Awards.
The wine took out the title following 12 months worth of blind tastings and an assortment of 2,500 wines.
“For the amazing value price of $7, plus high blind judging score, this should be everybody’s everyday drinking wine,” said head of the judging panel Peter Simic.
The Semillon Sav boasts tropical fruit flavours, including passionfruit and lime, with hints of herbal tea and blossom.
So if you love wine (and getting more bang for your buck!), head to your local Liquorland, First Choice Liquor or Vintage Cellars to stock up!
