Trying to find the perfect holiday destination for your annual getaway can be quite daunting.

With so many countries to choose from, sometimes it’s easier to stay home than decide on the best place to relax and rewind.

A new study conducted by consumer review site Which? has revealed the best – and worst – travel destinations around the world.

Some key findings concluded that several places throughout the Middle East and Northern Africa were deemed to be safer than other tourist hotspots.

We’ve included the list below, to help you decide on where to book your next flights, including the places to avoid!

Top 10 Safest Countries from Crime

If you’re after a holiday where you’re least likely to be mugged or pick-pocketed on the streets, these are the destinations for you, ranked from most safest.

Top 10 Most Dangerous for Natural Disasters 

The data collected determined these destinations to be at most risk of a natural disaster – ranked from the least safest.

In addition to the above rankings, the study also concluded the below findings:

Health

Overall, the United States, South America, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the UAE and Japan were all considered to be low risk to travellers in terms of health.

Dengue fever (a virus spread via mosquitoes) was even prevalent in first world countries like Australia and Singapore.

Parts of India, Thailand and South Africa had reported cases of Zika virus (also spread through mosquitoes).
