The Easter holidays are fast-approaching, and while time off work does sounds delightful, trying to figure out what activities to do during the school holidays is a familiar and unwelcome headache. If you just can’t take on anymore mental load, then do not fear — we’ve collated some child-friendly things to do that’ll keep the kids happy and be one less thing on your to-do list.
Here are some fun things to do during the Easter holidays:
Dreamworld
We’re starting off strong: Dreamworld Australia.
The country’s largest theme park boasts over 40 rides and attractions, so everyone can find something they enjoy… maybe even you?
There are a dozen thrill rides, from the Giant Drop to the new King Claw, which reaches speeds of up to 98 kilometres per hour (!!) and is the largest of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere.

But, if you’re in need of something more mellow, there are family and child rides, with the Street Food Festival also on between April 4-19.
They also offer a ‘buy three get one ticket free’ deal, so keep that in mind.
Sydney Royal Easter Show
There is quite literally something for everyone at the Sydney Royal Easter Show, running from April 2 to April 13 at Sydney Olympic Park.
There’s carnival rides and a farmyard nursery, and fireworks everything night at 8:50 pm for the entire family to enjoy.
And, of course, a visit isn’t complete without visiting the Showbag Pavilion to pick up a themed bag with everything from toys to confectionery inside.

Free festivals and markets across Australia
There are also lots of other markets, festivals, and shows running in majority of the states over the Easter long weekend such as the Bendigo Easter Festival in Victoria, the Redcliffe Markets Easter Extravaganza from 8am-2pm in Brisbane, and local food markets and easter egg hunts in other states.
For art galleries and museums, many are closed over the long weekend, but some are operating at limited hours on Easter Saturday.
