Conceived by flamboyant entrepreneur of the year and winemaking icon Chester Osborn (a fourth generation member of this venerable family), the Cube is a five-storey tribute to the complexities of winemaking and is designed to excite the senses, enticing you to learn more about what goes into making the liquid you’re swirling in your glass.

There’s a wine sensory room, 360-degree video room, the virtual fermenter and a range of other experiences designed to be tactile and engaging. The ground floor features the Alternate Realities Museum that displays a thought-provoking collection of art installations to ponder as you sample the wines – and you can even create your own blends.

Make sure you have your phone charged since there are a lot of photo opportunities in the Cube, not the least being the impressive views of the region. Make a weekend of it and stay at the nearby Vineyard Retreat, itself another outstanding McLaren Vale destination.
