THERE’S cruising and then there’s cruising aboard the ultra-luxe new mega yacht Scenic Eclipse, set to be a game-changer for the industry.
After much anticipation, the James Bond-esque vessel set sail on its maiden voyage from Reykjavik to Quebec last week, offering a six-star experience for just 200 passengers – or 228 when it heads to warmer clients such as the Caribbean Greek islands and Spain.
With handcrafted itineraries, two helicopters for scenic flights and a custom-built submarine which can dive 200m below the surface, guests will be living like A-listers as they hit the high seas in absolute luxury.

The luxe vessel has 114 all-verandah suites across five decks, with all suites offering separate sleeping and living spaces, butler service, and a king-sized Scenic Slumber bed.
Those who really want to splash out can opt for the two-bedroom Owner’s Penthouse Suite, which covers 233 square metres and boasts a terrace and private Jacuzzi.
There are also 10 dining options – from Asian Fusion to French fine dining – and all-inclusive beverages so guests can sample in style at the eight different bars and lounges.

Catering to guests’ every need, there’s a plush SENSES spa with saunas, steam rooms and thermal lounges, as well as a gym and separate, tranquil yoga and Pilates studio.
The Scenic Eclipse also boasts a state-of-the-art theatre, indoor and outdoor plunge pools; and an almost one to one guest-to-staff ratio ensure the voyage is the ultimate bucket list experience.

“Our goal with Scenic Eclipse was to open up the private Discovery Yacht experience so that our guests could discover regions previously only visited by a fortunate few,” Chairman Glen Moroney said at Scenic’s annual Night of Stars trade event in Sydney.
“In many cases only the supremely wealthy or explorers and adventurers could’ve travelled to the Antarctic hinterland or have ventured below the surface to witness Polar wildlife in their natural habitat but now we are making these experiences accessible to our guests whilst they travel in the utmost luxury and safety.”
