THERE’S no denying pop-up hotels have garnered a global following with travellers seeking out truly unique, immersive experiences more than ever before.
With research showing 72 per cent of millennials would rather spend money on experiences than material objects, temporary hotels offer memorable, shareable experiences in unique, sometimes improbable, spaces.
Plus, these experiential lodgings leave minimal impact on the environment making them appealing to the eco-conscious traveller.
In a state first, Visit Victoria have launched the luxe Wine Down Pop Up hotel in a bid to showcase three lesser known wine regions this winter.
The two upcycled eco-luxury converted shipping containers will move between Waratah Hills Vineyard in South Gippsland, Dal Zotto Wines in the heart of the King Valley and Mount Towrong Vineyard in Macedon between April and July offering the opportunity for guests to immerse themselves in the beauty of regional Victoria whilst enjoying luxury lodgings.
Founded on sustainable luxury in collaboration with local wine makers, Wine Down Pop Up hotel – which starts at $275 per night – boasts high-end finishes, bifold sliding doors to a private deck, a queen bed with Cultiver linen, a private bathroom with Hunter Lab amenities, a mini bar, continental breakfast and a hot tub.
Foodies and wine lovers can explore the region’s culinary and artisanal offerings or simply relax and take in the spectacular vistas with an obligatory glass of vino – or two.
