Mark Salling’s cause of death was asphyxia by hanging and has been ruled a suicide, by the the Coroner.
Los Angeles Coroner Assistant Chief Ed Winter confirm the cause of death to PEOPLE.
Winter also revealed that the Glee star’s autopsy has been completed and his body is ready to be picked up by his family.
It was previously revealed by Winter that Salling, 35, was found hanging from a tree on Tuesday.
The actor’s death occurred one month before he was to be sentenced to prison for possession of child pornography.
