Braith Anasta breaks his silence on Jodi’s TV hiatus

Last month reps for Neighbours star Jodi Anasta, née Gordon, confirmed that she had been forced to take a leave of absence from Ramsey Street due to “exhaustion.” And now the actresses ex-husband, Braith Anasta has weighed in on her health troubles.

Speaking to The Daily Telegraph’s Confidential, the former Roosters star made a thinly veiled dig at his ex wife – with whom he shares daughter Aleeia, five – saying he was not getting involved in her personal life and was choosing to focus on their daughter and his charity work.

“It’s up to her (Jodi) to look after herself,” the Sydney-based star told the publication.

“I don’t get involved with her personal life.

“I look after Aleeia and whatever Jodi’s got to do she’s got to do. I’ve got my own family to worry about.

“As long as Aleeia is taken care of, that’s all that matters.”

The former sports great has a busy schedule. As well as sharing custody of Aleeia, the 37-year-old is partner to current girlfriend Rachael Lee and father to their baby daughter Gigi and stepson Addison, whilst caring for his cancer-survivor mother Kim.

The star is also an ambassador for Priceline’s Misterhood for the Sisterhood, and is currently gearing up to embark on a six-week fundraising campaign alongside cricket legend Merv Hughes, former AFL players Dermott Brereton, Tony Modra, Glen Jakovich and former NRL player Billy Moore in the hope of raising $1.5 million for women’s charities.

Last month a source reported to The Herald Sun that Neighbours star Jodi is on ‘a three-week break’ from filming the Aussie soap.

The former model’s managerSean Andersonalso confirmed the news: ‘She’s just having a rest. She’s exhausted so she’s taking three weeks off.’

‘She’s living between two cities, she’s also a single mum and there are challenges that come with it.’
