From Fountain Lakes to Ramsay Street! Magda Szubanski has joined the cast of Neighbours.
The TV legend known for her much-loved role of Sharon Strzelecki on Kath & Kim will join Neighbours as the celebrant for the first legal same sex wedding on Australian television.
Szubanksi will play Jemima Davies-Smythe, who will marry David Tanaka and Aaron Brennan, but in a surprise twist Jemima ends up being connected to Ramsay Street royalty.
The role is a very fitting one for the comedic writer and actress, who campaigned relentlessly for the same-sex marriage ‘Yes’ vote.
Szubanski will appear on Neighbours in early September 2018.
