In further unimaginable heartache for the family, the father of murdered teacher Stephanie Scott has been killed by a falling tree.
Robert Scott was on the family farm in Canowindra, NSW, when the accident happened earlier yesterday.
A NSW Police statement said a man, aged in his 60s, “was hit by a falling tree while clearing trees on the property. His body was located this morning.”

Police are now preparing a report for the coroner.
The tragedy comes just weeks after Vincent Stanford was sentenced to life in prison without parole for Stephanie Scott’s rape and murder on Easter Sunday last year.
“Stephanie would want us to resume our lives,” said Stephanie’s mother Merrilyn on Oct. 13. “We need to be able to fade from public view, to mourn our beautiful girl and work our way through our grief.”
