This week, in a very rare move, Kensington Palace officially commented on the alleged feud between Prince William and Prince Harry and their wives Duchess Catherine and Meghan Markle.

There had been a report that Kate had a word to Meghan about her attitude but a Kensington Palace spokesperson squashed the claims saying, “This never happened.”
It certainly isn’t the first time that the palace have needed to step in to tell the world their story.
If you think back to November 8 2016, Prince Harry confirmed his relationship with Meghan Markle through a groundbreaking press release.
“He is also aware that there is significant curiosity about his private life.”
“The past week has seen a line crossed,” the Palace’s statement warned
“His girlfriend, Meghan Markle has been subject to a wave of abuse and harassment. Some of this has been very public – the smear on the front page of a national newspaper; the racial undertones of comment pieces; and the outright sexism and racism of social media trolls and web article comments.”
“Prince Harry is worried about Ms. Markle’s safety and is deeply disappointed that he has not been able to protect her. It is not right that a few months into a relationship with him that Ms. Markle should be subjected to such a storm. He knows commentators will say this is ‘the price she has to pay’ and that ‘this is all part of the game’. He strongly disagrees. This is not a game – it is her life and his.”
“He has asked for this statement to be issued in the hopes that those in the press who have been driving this story can pause and reflect before any further damage is done. He knows that it is unusual to issue a statement like this, but hopes that fair-minded people will understand why he has felt it necessary to speak publicly.”
“Generally speaking, when the royals are feeling under pressure from the press, they just rise above it — they ignore it,” royal commentator Victoria Arbiter has said.
“Because in their minds if you say something about it, it only further fuels the story.”
Meghan officially commented on her family dramas prior to her royal wedding.
“This is a deeply personal moment for Ms. Markle in the days before her wedding.” reads the memo.
“She and Prince Harry ask again for understanding and respect to be extended to Mr. Markle in this difficult situation.”
She then confirmed that he would not be attending, sharing a first person note that read, “Sadly, my father will not be attending our wedding. I have always cared for my father and hope he can be given the space he needs to focus on his health.”
“I would like to thank everyone who has offered generous messages of support. Please know how much Harry and I look forward to sharing our special day with you on Saturday.”
One of the most sensational press releases to leave the royal office came from Queen Elizabeth about her son and heir to the throne, Prince Charles.
The royal had been embroiled in a angry back and forth with his then wife Princess Diana.
From explosive interviews, to news of infidelity, the palace stepped in to clean up the marital mess.
On Dec. 20, 1995, Buckingham Palace revealed that Her Majesty had written to both Charles and Diana ordering that they divorce.
“After considering the present situation, the queen wrote to both the prince and princess earlier this week and gave them her view, supported by the Duke of Edinburgh, that an early divorce is desirable,” a palace statement read.
The statement shared that the Queen and Prince Philip would “continue to do all they can to help and support the Prince and Princess of Wales, and most particularly their children, in this difficult period.”
“One cannot underestimate how angry the queen has been. At the palace there’s a huge sigh of relief. The queen has decided that enough is enough,” SKY TV reporter Simon McCoy revealed at the time.
