WATCH: The reason why William and Harry are fighting explained:

It has been alleged that William, 36 and Harry, 34 did not see each other for six months, bar scheduled public appearances, during the height of their rift – with many believing the brother’s started to fight shortly after Harry met Meghan Markle.

“I was told, after the royal wedding, Harry and Meghan didn’t see Kate and William personally,” Emily Andrews, royal correspondent for The Sun, told Yahoo UK’s The Royal Box.

“We all remember those two young boys walking behind Diana’s coffin and we as a nation, our heart went out to them, that really is how we’ve seen them ever since.

“I think behind the scenes, Harry and William’s relationship has always been up and down actually but of course, we’ve never really seen that.”

Ms Andrew believes that the brother’s had decided to split their royal households was actually positive.
“I think that has improved matters,” she noted.

Speaking about William’s “brotherly advice” over Meghan Markle, she continued: “I think it was meant very kindly in a well-meaning way but Harry was very defensive of Meghan and took it completely the wrong way and said to William something along the lines of, ‘You’re trying to destroy this relationship before it’s even started’.”

ITV royal editor Chris Ship added: “No one is entirely sure what triggered it, or whether it’s related to one issue or many issues, but in royal circles, few will deny that there has been a fraternal rift – and it’s made things more than a little tricky.”
