The Bachelorette’s controversial contestant Jess Glasgow must be seriously regretting his creepy actions on Thursday night’s show after calls for the Noosa councillor’s resignation

On last night’s episode, Jess got the shock of his life when Angie confronted him about his sleazy behaviour and promptly gave him the boot from the competition.

However, following huge public backlash and calls from the Mayor of Noosa for Jess to resign from his position, Angie has hit back saying, despite Jess’ unforgivable behaviour, she doesn’t want to see the 37-year-old bullied online or lose his job.

“I don’t need him to be online bullied, I can’t stand that,” Angie told KIIS FM’s Kyle and Jackie O this morning.

“I don’t wish him any harm or hate.

“Now he can learn from this, hopefully, just learn to not talk to women like that if you want to make a connection.”

“I don’t want him to lose his job, that’s not something I would want for anyone … He signed up to a reality show and I can’t control what anyone else says or does about the matter. I just stuck up for myself in that moment, that’s all I did.”

In an interview with Nova’s Fitzy and Wippa earlier this morning the Mayor of Noosa, Tony Wellington said:

“It was a rather extreme example of Cr Glasgow’s behaviour and it’s most disappointing to me and to many other people across Noosa and I’m sure across the country,” Mayor Wellington said.

“That sort of misogynistic, crude, offensive behaviour is just not on.
“He certainly wasn’t acting on behalf of Noosa council on the show, but he did reference his role on Noosa council which he shouldn’t have done, and made in fact some play of the fact he was a politician on the Noosa council.”

While Jess’s position as an elected representative means he can’t be fired, Wellington has encouraged him to resign.

“I’ll be speaking with Jess about his future on the council. I don’t see that he has a future on our council.

“I did speak to him this morning and I told him that my recommendation to him was that he resign from his position as councillor on the Noosa Council.

“He is under the belief that he can brave it out, shall we say… he thinks that it’s not as dramatic as some of the reactions I’ve been receiving.”

Jess also spoke to Fitzy and Wippa, stating that he was ashamed of his “despicable” actions.

“I’m naturally a little bit of a flirtatious guy [but] I’m truly sorry. Angie deserves a hell of a lot better than that, every woman does,” he said.

Speaking on The Kyle and Jackie O Show, the politician broke down as he revealed how his career had been destroyed in just 48 hours.

“I’m actually shaking. I’m totally not happy at myself and I do not applaud any of [my] actions,” he confessed.

In a statement to 10 Daily, Jess said:

“It was not my intention to bring the Noosa Council or Noosa people into disrepute. I had the opportunity to find love on this show and I went for it.”
